On floor levels that require an AutoTight® AT Take-Up Device installed, use the recommended procedure is as follows;

To insure the proper installation of the AutoTight® Rod Holdown System always check the drawings for the Bearing Plate and AT Device per level.

• Install the proper Bearing Plate over the rod onto the bottom plate of the Shearwall with full contact of the wood surface.

• Install the proper AT Device over the rod on top of the Bearing Plate with the activation screw accessible.

• Install the washer and nut on the rod and tighten snugly against the AT Device. Do not use a lockwasher. 

• Remove the activation screw from the AT Device.

• Best practice is to perform final nut tightening and remove activation screw just prior to closure of the wall.
