Acceptance Criteria for Shrinkage Compensation
Devices |
AC 316 is now the standard.
A new acceptance criteria (AC316) for Shrinkage Compensating Devices
was approved by ICC ES effective July 1, 2005. This acceptance
criteria gives direction to manufacturers on the testing and rating
of take-up devices for: rated load capacity and rated take-up
(expansion) capacity. The test requires testing to a proof load of
1.1 times the rated load and then allowing the device to expand. The
load-expand-load-expand-load cycle, insures that devices will
perform to both load and expansion ratings should they experience
intermittent loading.
The take-up device (AT Auto Take-Up) used by Commins Manufacturing
Inc was tested to to this Acceptance Criteria except the test was
more severe with a proof load of 1.5 times the design load.
